Kids Fit Club After-School Programs

Kids Fit Club:

Taught by Kelsey Searles & Kristine Northrup, Certified Personal Trainers at Positive LifeForce Fitness & Wellness Studios in Endwell.
This program gives kids exactly what they need after school ~ physical activity and mental stimulation! The name of the game is FUN and ACTIVE, while we learn about the 4 components of fitness (cardio respiratory endurance, strength, flexibility, and balance), through games, and more. Every kid gets to be creative and be the leader when it’s their turn to make up the game.

Blissful Kids Yoga

Classes will be taught by Jessica Michalek, Vinyasa Yoga Instructor, 200RYT

Cooperative games, theme activities, storytelling, music, and art engage the natural energy and enthusiasm of children in this class. Alive with flowing sequences, balancing poses, breathing exercises, and creative relaxation techniques, children are sure to relish in their selves. As well, partner poses and cooperative yoga games inspire positive peer interactions that they are sure to carry into their everyday lives. We create a non-competitive environment of physical fitness, which allows kids to truly enjoy learning new skills. Kids learn a better awareness of their emotions as well as an understanding of the emotions of others.

The Peaceful Jedi: Lightsaber Training

Classes will be taught by Matthew Barrett, Certified Personal Trainer and Martial Arts Instructor at Positive LifeForce Fitness and Wellness Studios in Endwell, NY

A Martial Arts/Fitness class geared towards fun! Based on the Jedi way from the movies of Star Wars. We will explore lightsaber combat (with foundations of real martial arts and fitness). We start with exercises that mimic what a Jedi would do to train, spend time stretching to lengthen our muscles, and then learn real martial arts sequences that a Jedi would use. The class ends with breathing and quite time to reflect on what we learned in class.

Kids Running Club

The club will be instructed be Ken Howell, Head Certified Personal Trainer at Positive LifeForce Fitness and Wellness Studios in Endwell.

Learning to run is a perfect and inexpensive way to stay in shape that can be done anywhere. For young athletes it will help kids stay in shape for team sports throughout the year—and when there’s a social element to exercise, they may be more willing to stick with it. Our kids running club will teach form, technique, and pacing through games and drills and keep children excited about the sport by setting long-term goals.
